Resistance to Neoliberalism
At the initiative of Ludger Volmer, one of the key people involved in Third World solidarity work within the parliamentary group, they sought to make global justice a political issue. Just as U.S. environmental groups were pushing for Congressional oversight hearings regarding the MDBs, the German Greens managed to make IMF and World Bank policies the subject of a parliamentary debate in the German Bundestag.
